Our strategy & values
As a civic and expert organisation, we work to prevent and reduce harm caused by substance abuse and gambling. We support the well-being of communities and individuals, and promote socially sustainable development. We are an active social advocate.
Our strategy 2020 defines three main pillars of our operations:
- Preventing and reducing harm caused by substance use and gambling
- We support the well-being of individuals and communities
- We shape living environments and societal structures
- We promote expertise and effective methods in preventive work
- Strengthening and renewing civic engagement
- We develop volunteer-based activities that prevent substance and gambling-related harm
- We strengthen our active relationship with member organisations
- Societal advocacy
- We advocate for shared responsibility and well-being
- We highlight prevention as part of socially sustainable development
Our values are
Shared responsibility. We promote responsibility and care in all our activities. Our work is based on dialogue and built in collaboration with various actors. Our goal is to have a society of communities founded on mutual care and compassion.
Equality. Our activities are equal and fair regionally, linguistically, socially, culturally, and across genders and generations. We promote and support citizen participation and inclusion in all aspects of our work.
Expertise. We value diverse professional competence, reliable research, and expertise rooted in everyday experiences within civic activity. We promote the use of effective methods and continuously develop our own skills.
